Today we have the honor of shining the spotlight over to Lyra Mori!! Who is Lyra? What sort of content does she make? Why did she decide to be a moth? Find out all about her and more as she flies straight for our spotlight!

Lyra’s story.
After all of the articles I have written in the past I have found that there is a couple of common reasons that I have read which lead to vtubers decision to pursue the world of vtubing.Every story is unique and the events themselves have always played out different, but there is a rough connector to most vtubers. That would be, pain. There have been many where an injury either gave them the free time off work to pursue what they wanted, or the discomfort or pain of a current position led them to pursue their dreams. Lyra’s story starts with this as well!
She suffered an electrocution injury. One that had her recovering from home. One day while she was at home she decided to clean the house up, because any will know a house can always use with some tidying especially if a kid is involved. While doing so, she noticed that her daughter was watching ” a 3d catboy named Tfmjonny”. Of course this would indirectly inspire her, because it piqued her curiosity in what she did not know at the time was the vtuber world. She leapt into action and started researching and learning about 3d models, and the world of vtubing as a whole. She of course was unable to return to normal work because of her physical therapy, which led to a lot of time to really learn about vtubing as a whole. So she found that her newfound recovery time would be a great time to try a new twist on streaming, something that she has dabbled in before in the past. She opted to go for a 2d model and not a 3d one and took to streaming again. Thus Lyra Mori the moth was created.
How did you settle on your current design?
Lyra’s model shown above is something that I absolutely swoon over whenever I see it. I love the intricacies and the detail work put into the flowers and skulls. But why did she decide on this model? and why did she want to be a moth to begin with? Lyra of course was kind enough to enlighten us as to why!
This was a case of infatuation. Lyra had volunteered at a butterfly and moth sanctuary. During this time she was given a specific species that she was to take care of. Of course during this time she just fell in love with the colors of the moths that she now took care of. She loved the colors, the design and look of, and the species as a whole.
While she was making her model and thinking up her brand she was leaning more towards a wolf spirit at first. This just did not feel right for her so she kept creating and designing her character until she was able to get the right feel. She eventually landed on the moths that she fell in love with back at the sanctuary. The most important part was that she felt that it was right. That this design was who she was and something she could be happy and proud with to represent Lyra. Now that shes had the design of the character down, she was onto the clothing of her moth. She stated that she ran into some struggles when it came to the color of the clothing due to the noir skin tone. At the end of the day, she says that color theory really saved her some stress when it came down to the decision. Thus in total, Lyra was born.
As a quick addendum, I want to slip in that I was a viewer since she was a pngtuber. Her png was very very close, almost one to one, with the model. I saw when she changed to her 2d avatar and I was blown away. As of writing this, it is still relatively new, but not brand new. I think that it really suits her as a content creator and I am so happy that she was able to find something that really makes her feel at home, because that is one of the greatest wonders of vtubing!!
Content.
Twitch.
I am sure many have heard this saying before, but content is king. Meaning that a content creator with no content of course is missing a part of themselves. We have seen that many can create content even only on twitter and amass a following before they ever even debut. So what kind of content does Lyra make?
Well if you check out her twitch link that I left above, you will find a fun array of games! This is her specialty and what you will find the most of over on her channel. She plays a variety of games, like subnautica, and noita. I was also able to catch an art once but those are definitely more of the rarity.
Streaming style.
Every streamer brings their unique personality and style to the table when they stream or make content. If I had to describe what Lyra’s is, it would be inviting. Lyra always makes you feel welcome in her chat and always knows how to have a great time and keep her chat entertained. She is quite a funny, and often not seiso, streamer who makes her audience feel sort of relaxed, comfortable, and quite giddy at the same time. She often makes me feel like I am just hanging out with a friend playing some games and hearing some hilarious reactions or funny quips to games. This all makes a complete package as to what Lyra’s streams are like.
Goal.
I was curious then, what Lyra’s goals were and are when she started streaming. She told me that her goal was and is to create a safe place for her community and to have a community that supports each other. I instantly felt that this resonates so well with her streaming style. A goal such as that is never truly over, as a community and space grows and get newer and newer members there will always be this sort of goal to strive towards and I think it is amazing and admirable. I also know for a fact from watching her that she has totally nailed this for the time being. She herself is such a fun kind inviting moth and you can feel that her community really shines like she does as well! If you tune in you know you are going to feel safe, and want to spread that positivity outwards. I can not commend her enough for doing what she does and having a community that spreads more of what the world needs!
Merchandise.
Lyra also announced that she is making Merchandise! So if you love her or her design, these are totally something to look out for as well! As far as I know she is making enamels and I am excitedly waiting the reveal so that I might be able to cop some for myself. I just wanted to drop this as a quick little announcement and plug for some of the things she has been up to that are not stream related!
Closing.
Lyra is an amazing Moth and a great streamer who spreads a lot of positivity. I implore you to go and check her out one day when she is live, because you really won’t regret it. She makes amazing content, and is such a kind and honest creator!
