This week I have the honor of covering Arizabeth Lilitu, or Ari for short! What has this up and coming vtuber been through to start vtubing? Is there any specific reason she decided on her model? Answers and more follow!!

Story.

I asked her what is my favorite question, although quite an open ended one. A staple now for my vtuber spotlight series as well. That question was, “what is your story”. What follows is her answer to that question, as she was kind enough to share the details of her life leading up to vtubing!

Her story starts off where a lot of ours also does, 2020. It was a horrible year that I am sure needs not explain, and is a year where many of us decided to become vtubers for self exploration, creation, and some to keep our minds off the horrors of that year. Well Ari was starting that year off strong, with some socio-political strife in the country as well as accruing her second concussion at the beginning of the year. Not only this, she also fell out of a serious relationship, moved out of her state for the very first time, and also fell down the stairs while moving, breaking her ankle in three different places. This was not owning up to being a great year for Ari.

Because of this, she had to go back home to her parents, and seek medical help for her ankle. She was unable to move for two whole months, leading her mind to wander while she was stuck in bed with her leg propped up 24/7 unable to do much at all. This led to an epiphany, Ari realized that everything in life that she was doing, was to make others happy. This may seem sort of noble, but this left her with little time for herself and self care and realizing that was a big problem in her life.

During this time, she became aware and familiar with vtubers, specifically Inugami Korone. Korone’s streams really lifted her up in a time where she felt immense helplessness and depression. Ari saw just how full of life Korone was and felt that it was time for her to do something for herself. The combination of hard times and inspiration from Korone is what would lead her to start streaming for the fun of it, something that she can finally say she was doing for herself. She felt like she was a bit broken and that streaming may be one of the missing pieces to help make her whole again; and she was right after all. She states that streaming makes her happier than she has been in years. Streaming gives her the perfect balance of helping others by bringing them joy through her content, and doing something for herself that is healing and enriching.

Her model.

As above, I wanted to get a grasp on why she chose to go with a fallen angel model. As a vtuber model is oftentimes, but not always, a sort of self insert in a sense. A way to make yourself something that you could never be. There are a myriad of reasons one might pick for their model, and I was really fascinated in what inspired her to be a fallen angel, like myself.

Ari’s inspiration for her design mirrors a lot of my own as well as for why I picked my name and design. She was raised in a christian household, where she was unable to fit the mold that her family had envisioned her to be. She tried really hard in her younger years, but realized that was just not going to happen. Because of this she felt like she had fallen from grace over time. She was unfit to be who her parents had wanted her to be, so then she had to ask herself, Who am I, or more who do I want to be? Ari got the freedom to create herself from her own morals, perspective, and wishes and not those of her parents. As someone who still lives in a household like this, this was almost my exact reasoning as well for wanting to become a fallen angel.

So who was Ari? She decided that her model, Arizabeth, would be like her. A fallen angel that was flawed, imperfect, but yet still wishes to be a positive force on the world. Someone who is working to become comfortable with who she is as a halfway point between angel and devil because she has characteristics of both.

The idea behind her design came down to what Ari would wear IRL and what she believes Arizabeth would wear. As for the name, it is derived from the names Lilith and Jezebeth who are demons. As well as from the archangel Ariael the lion of God. Once combined, it loosely means the lion angel of darkness. She also wanted something that could be shortened to Ari, as that is what she goes by IRL. She says taht she really wanted a design that she could get behind and that it took quite a while to really nail the look she wanted.

Content.

Twitch.

Ari streams mostly gaming content over at her twitch for the moment. She also says in her bio that she will do art streams, so please stay tuned for those because I am also excited to pop on by an art stream. For now there are a variety of games that she has played and has up as vods on her twitch channel.

Ari streams are always a blast. If I had to describe the feels and vibes I get from her streams the first and biggest one that sticks out would be inviting. As she stated earlier, she has always had a great inclination to help others and make others feel happier. I think that this is what shines through with her content the most. She consistently makes it a space where if you show her respect, you will receive three, maybe even four times that kindness back in return. She also is quite funny and chaotic, especially when you tune into a stream that has some of her friends in it as well. Then you are really in for a special treat. She has not been streaming long at all, but I feel like she is a natural entertainer and is quite an amazing friend if you give her the chance.

I was also wondering if she had any inside jokes or running gags or commands on twitch between her and her viewers. Now I know she is quite the new streamer, but I felt I would ask, and she did have an answer! She said that she often censors expletives with the word beans, because she picked it up from watching her niece do the same. It comes up a lot so people find that quite funny, as well as some specific jokes that involve the video game Phasmophobia. Youtube.

I wanted to briefly link her youtube as well. There is not too much to say at the moment as it is more of a twitch vod channel, but if you are interested in her content at all it is a solid subscribe. She posts her vods there regularly for those who prefer the youtube format instead of twitch.

Goal.

Often times we see an initial goal when someone decides they want to create content. Some want the fame, others want a community. There is an endless amount of reasons one may want to create a channel and content. I asked her why she may have wanted to, just in case there were more reasons not specified earlier. She responded saying that the goal she had when creating it really just boiled down to what she had stated earlier and that is to do something that can help others, but also enrich herself and be an activity that is solely for her at the same time. I believe again that this core concept really shines through with her content and how she interacts with anyone quite honestly. She is a very kind hearted person who makes amazing, funny, honest content.

Other activities.

I was wondering if there was anything she may want shared that was not directly related to streaming, maybe a skill she is working on or commissions. Listed below is a quick list of some of the things that Ari is up to:

• She does not have commissions up currently but may open them up one day. I felt this was worth mentioning and I excitedly anticipate the day they may open again.
• She also wants to get better at singing and make some song covers in the future. This is quite the possibility as she also knows how to play the ukulele.

Those two all sound like amazing prospects for content. I personally would love to commission her and check out her song covers in the future so I am wishing her the best on those endeavors!

In short, Ari is an incredible content creator and vtuber that went through quite the hard times to get to where she is now. I believe she is quite the amazing fighter, and I was quite happy to hear that she persevered through the hard times last year to get to where she is today! I absolutely love her content and she is a great friend so I had to reach out to her and ask if I could write about her.
