Today’s Vtuber spotlight is on Suuga, also know as Suugachan the sheep vtuber! Suuga has such amazing talent as an entertainer, but has she always had such a talent for entertainment? What led up to her decision to become a vtuber and how hard of a decision was it? Why did she settle on a sheep? All that and way more follows!

Suuga’s story.

Suuga’s story starts with a couple discoveries. She found out about vtubers as a whole through one of her friends. Her friend would often send her clips and videos of Korone and Okayu, often saying things like ” oh this is so us”. Later, she found a really affordable model for vtubing, and knowing that some of her friends were already vtubers, was instantly invested. For a very long time, Suuga felt that vtubing was an incredibly interesting and fascinating concept, but for her at the time it was not doable for her. Thus the affordable model afforded her some leeway into the medium. At the time she was an incredibly busy person, and was unable to really take vtubing serious due to how she was always busy working.

A few months pass by, and she is on vacation. Now that the time barrier was no longer an issue for at least the duration of her vacation, she decided to try vtubing. She ended up falling in love with vtubing. Her friends had advised against it because of how busy she often was, but she later told them about the fun she was having and even got them to join in with her too. She was then able to turn it into her primary source of income so that she may invest all that time into vtubing and here we are now, 7 months later!

Hers is a story that I think a lot of us slightly older vtubers can really appreciate and understand. I always worry that if or when I go back to work I won’t have time for any of my articles or vtuber activities, and I feel that time can be a real barrier for many who aspire or are currently vtubers. I really am so happy that there are those who can turn this into a primary source of income, and dedicate their time to a passion that they may or may not have known that they have!

Why your model?

Suuga has an incredibly cute and amazing model. Naturally I wondered why sheep and on the design process for her amazing model. This led to quite an amazing and interesting origin story for Suuga the sheep model that I want to share!

Suuga’s design came from a bunch of random ideas and characters she liked the essence of, her favorite colors, and much more! Her design mama was Starlitneko, she helped her come up with the design of her model from all of these ideas and things she was sent. Suuga knew her from a previous gig and knew she was dipping her toes into the vtuber world and decided to reach out for some design help. Together they came up with the base of what we know now as Suuga. As time went on, this initial base design would be tweaked and changed.

For example, WishingAria, came up with her very first png. Suuga found that there was some emptiness on her model that she wanted filled up and asked Wish if she could fill up the space with maybe some sweater ties. With that in mind, Wish made the necklace and the ties that we see on her today!

She then worked with Yoshiiteru for her reference sheet. This collaboration led to the stars that you see in her hair and the shoes that platform and have horns to match with her head. She is a sheep that is quite fashinable, but loves comfy wear. You can often catch her in casual dresses and romper all paired up with some cute designer sneakers!

Suuga was unable to remember if she actually started out as a sheep vtuber. At one point her model did have normal human ears, but as time and alternations went on she evolved into what you see today. She is unable to pinpoint when, how, or why she ended up becoming a sheep vtuber. She believes that she may have done so because of an old sheep oc that she had when she was younger. All in all she wanted a model that would physically represent her.

Content.

Twitch

Suuga has an amazing range of content on her streams. She is someone who will play a game one day, then just chat the next. Her content over on twitch is her main focus, and is where you will find her gaming, just chatting, music, chat interactive games, and much more content types. She streams quite regularly as well so make sure you catch her when she is live!

But what about the stream vibes? Well if I had to describe them in one word it would be fantastic! She is someone who is super duper kind to her chat and is quite understanding and bubbly. She will have you smiling and laughing all stream, except for when she makes your jaw drop with her amazing voice talent. I have to fanboy a bit about this for a second, but of everyone I have met and talked to in life, her voice range is by far the most stunning. When I tune in, and she is voicing different characters, I will think she has her chat or other people voicing lines through a voice chat but they are all her. She can go so high and low in her pitches that it completely stuns me! She out performs so many voice talents that I see who work professionally, so I have to take the time to talk this up!

She also has a couple funny running gags on her stream as well as commands I would like to talk about. First would be dabs. Suuga admittedly said she will dab to most anything and I find that hilarious. She said, “You make sure you gave yourself a high five? I dab”. That perfectly encompasses what will cause a dab from her, which are all so well placed I laugh every time and dab along with her with her chat command !dab. That is of course her hype command, which many have in their chats. Her other thing is a command that takes her sweater off. That’s the most scandalous thing you’ll see on her channel, and the chat goes wild about it! Last is a command for a really deep voice Suuga, which is always a hoot as well!!

Youtube

Her youtube channel is not the main focus of her content, but there is some great content over there. It can range from music covers, to vods of her streams or stream highlights. If you love her twitch content, then subscribing is definitely a no brainer as it will be more short form content from her that you will absolutely love!

Goal when starting vtubing.

Suuga’s main goal when she started vtubing was simply to entertain. She was already in the entertainment industry and went to school for it as well. Because of that, vtubing felt so natural for her. Taking it on full time has allowed her to entertain those like me, while keeping her passion her profession. It allowed her to have an amazing creative outlet and an amazing audience!!

Side projects.

I was wondering what projects Suuga might have that do not pertain to her streaming content directly. She was kind enough to share that she does take commissions for twitch highlight video editing, and that can be found on her twitter linked at the beginning of the article! She said that is quite a passive thing however.
