Hello everyone today I just want to chat very briefly about some things that I am excited about over E3. I also want to touch base about my art gallery I hosted yesterday, as well as some updates about this week.
E3
I just want to talk about a couple of games that caught my eye and why. I don’t plan on going too in depth about most of the games, as I am trying to control my levels of hype. I do not remember who said it but someone said that when you are too hyped the best thing that could happen is they don’t meet that hype, and the worst is that you are severely disappointed. So with that said lets jump into some of my opinions and what I am excited for and why!
Being that today was the Nintendo showcase, lets get this out there first. I grew up in a Nintendo household. My older brother was a massive Nintendo fan, and we ended up playing whatever we he wanted, because my family would only buy one console. They saw he liked Nintendo and bought one up. He is a much bigger proponent to Nintendo than I could ever be, where I love a lot of their franchises, I do not mind holding in scrutiny for the company.
So then based on that what am I excited for that I saw? Well for started the new smash bros character. I am, and always will be, a big smash brothers fan. It is a fun game with a questionable community, but the new character looked neat. I am not so much excited for Kazuya, but more so the character balance that will likely follow his release.
Next up, I want to say my brother and my friend I hang out with every weekend love Mario games. I was never big on the IP that is Mario, but I know I will get sucked into playing both of those with them on weekends. I, personally am not hyped all that much for those, but seeing that I will in the end get stuck playing them and likely enjoy my time just enough, I felt that was worth mentioning.
Metroid Dread to me looks promising. I love Metroid as an IP and their more recent remake was a really good one. They look like they will carry over that parry system and the timeline is set to be after Fusion. Fusion was one of my favorites as well and I love a great 2d metroidvania. Seeing as this is in the title of the genre I am quite excited. Samus’s new suit looks pretty bomb as well this time around.
I have never actually played a Monster Hunter Stories game before, but I absolutely love the mainline series. I have always felt like giving a try but never actually bought it myself. I am learning more towards excited because I feel like this may be the first one that I buy, because it looked pretty solid to me personally.
I am really trying hard to contain my hype for WarioWare. That series to me has never missed and I think Intelligent Systems does an amazing job with the game. I am a bit wary of the new character inside the micro games mechanic they showed however. But, WarioWare is great with their experimentation and I have loved every game in the series.
Other consoles and studios.
That is everything from the Nintendo side that I am excited about. I did not watch the other conferences yet if I will at all, but I saw that Halo Infinite is on the horizon as well. I sort of grew up on Halo as my brothers friends would bring their xboxes over for some Halo’s 1, 2, 3, and Reach quite often.
I saw news from Ska Studio on twitter as well about their new, upcoming game Salt and Sacrifice. That one has me super excited, as the first game was a huge hit for a good reason. I have played through the first Salt game like maybe 5 or 6 times and that reveal made me want to play through it again!
Last, and certainly not least, I wanted to talk about how excited I am for Elden Ring. Easily my favorite studio showing at this event. I love Miyazaki souls games. Every single one of them have such a charm, a type of uniqueness that touches a gamer to the core when they play them. I have to try exponentially hard not to be super hyped about Elden Ring, but what I saw looked amazing to me. I absolutely love souls-like, and these are the progenitor of that genre.
A massive thank you!
I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone that viewed or was involved in my art gallery. I hosted one on Monday, and it did better than I could have imagined. It broke some view records for me and it was the first one I ever hosted. I really thank you all for that and for those who were nice enough to give me the go ahead to share their art. It really did mean a lot, and I hope that the format and everything was to people’s liking. I am always open for criticism, but since starting my blog I have not really received any at all, from anyone on any platform. So all I can assume from this is that I am doing a lot right, but I am sort of left to guess on what I did wrong.
The only thing about the gallery was that I wish I had more than just the two entries, as I was hoping for ten. Be that as it may, I think I just need to amass a bigger audience and maybe ask on wordpress as well. Twitter as a whole can be very silent and non-interactive and I only asked over there! Next time I plan to hit up reddit, wordpress, and twitter.
Closing remarks and schedule.
I want to quickly say that, because of scheduling I will not be able to publish a vtuber spotlight this week, but I am in the process of asking around for the next vtuber who may want to be featured for next week. I am very sorry, but some things caught up with me this week, and I will be taking the rest of this week to settle things so that I may start fresh next week. I really appreciate the understanding from you all for this.
With everything said, I really hope you liked today’s rambles. This was scheduled for Monday, but I wanted to do an art gallery of course, as well as let E3 sort of run it’s course. I hope you all enjoyed and if so, please follow me over on twitter for more common updates about what is happening with me. Follow me here as well so you don’t miss any future posts. Every like is appreciated and helps as well and I hope you all have a fantastic Tuesday!
