Today I want to shine the spotlight onto Marceline Mortis or @RigorMarcy. What kinds of content does she make? What led her to be a vtuber and how did she make that a reality? Let’s find out and chat all about the lovely Marceline!

Story.

Marceline’s story starts out quite inspirational! She had seen vtubers like Korone making the rounds around her trending page. During this time, she was quite anxious as many of us were because of the whole pandemic situation. Because of this she decided to contact an old friend she hadn’t spoken too in a year and came to find out that she was a vtuber herself, Krystial to be exact. Upon reigniting the flames of their friendship she found herself wanting to become a vtuber herself and so she did just that.

Early on as a vtuber she felt that it was sort of natural for her, being that she is an artist. This accompanied by the motivation of another friend, Peaceful Knight, she persevered and continued to make content during this current pandemic; which certainly brings a lot more stresses and struggles than during any other time for our generation. I find that to be incredibly relatable and inspiring as one who started content creation during the pandemic myself.

Vtuber theme and model.

How did she come up with her vtuber model and theme? As many of you may already know, many vtubers like to stick to a theme that they tie back to their vtuber models. For example, Michiko from my past vtuber spotlight ran with the idea of a kitsune, and Milka as a cow cat. Many will theme them off of animals, mythological creatures, or creatures from fantasy with their own twists. Basically, the sky is the limit for a vtuber, their model, and who they want to be through their avatar.

With all that said Marceline had the help of a friend, the previously mentioned Peaceful Knight. They discussed between each other some niches that they found within the vtubing community and it was Peaceful Knight who recommended she go along the lines of candy gore. She also knew that the slime population in the vtuber community was a quite small, so with all those ideas in a melting pot, she came up with the idea of becoming a honey slime that could mold her body via the bones of other creatures.

Vibes.

This section is my extrapolation on the feel I get from Marceline as a content creator in a holistic sense. From her twitch, her twitter interactions, how she interacted with me in DM’s, etc. There is a range of vibes one can get from people in general, and never forget that vtubers are people too. For example my good friend Milka gives off such a friendly and goofy, in the best way possible, vibe. He makes you laugh because of his silliness on streams and how he interacts with you. Michiko, also gives off a warm vibe but is definitely more chill and feels like a senpai you can chill with and learn a lot from. Those are just two examples, but back to Marceline, how might I describe her vibes?

I would describe Marceline’s stream and personal vibes as very real, honest, and approachable. When you talk with her you can just feel the sincerity behind her words. She told me that she thinks it is very important to be approachable and I think that she fulfills that to the T. She is someone who interacted with me on twitter even though I am small and haven’t had much back and forth with her. She was kind enough to start the conversation and that made her infinitely approachable in my eyes and was a big motivator for me to continue being active on twitter. Even something as small as telling me her favorite weapon was enough to make my day, and you can expect more of this wholesomeness when you tune into her streams or even just say hi to her on twitter.

Streaming content.

Being relatively new to the scene, and having found Marceline semi recently, I haven’t caught too much of her past content. The farthest back I could find was 4 months ago on her Youtube, which you will see is her only youtube video. It was a super fun one that shows just how nice and gracious she is to her fans and viewers, and was the only gaming content I could find for her at the moment. Although she is a variety streamer that mostly focuses on art and video games, and has an emphasis on interacting with chat. I was personally happy seeing her play one of my all time favorite games ever, Terraria.

Her Twitch content can be expected to be the same as her YouTube content at the moment. As of today, I checked and all the previously saved streams are art streams, and from checking them all out they seem like a serious blast. A place to chat and chill and have a great time with a wonderful streamer you can talk to about most anything! She brings such a great streaming vibe to the table that it really makes her worth checking out. She is working on a redesign of her vtuber model and I have to say it looks magnificent!!

Other side content.

I also asked her directly if she had any other side content that she was working on. We have seen this before with vtubers like Eisu who works on webcomics, so I was wondering if she had anything in the works in general that is not just streaming content. She was kind enough to tell me about the Friday Night Funkin work that she has been streaming lately over on her twitch. She is making some really bomb art over there like the one pictured above. I think she is doing such a great job at making her vtuber model look like it fits into the universe. She translates to that world so well I would be convinced it was official if I didn’t know about the modding and fanart community!

She also told me that she wants to work on getting a carrd site up and running for herself as well. She wants to make one to get all of her information into one neatly sorted web space. Commissions, character lore, art portfolio and many more are what you can expect over there and I myself am very excited to see what she has going on once that site is up!!

Closing.

Marceline is a very fun, approachable, chill streamer that I can not recommend enough. If you go and tune in, I can guarantee you will have a wonderful time with her. I also have to give her bonus points for also being a weapon enthusiast like myself. If you are kind to her you can expect just that back, and she is totally worth making true and honest friends with!!
