Today I am ecstatic to write to you all about an amazing project that I stumbled upon on twitter. It is a Friday Night Funkin mod done by an English vtuber. Without further ado let us get into what it is all about.
First and foremost I would like to say that anything pertaining to the mod, I do not own including the art, the coding, and the audio. This mod covers week one and there may or may not be more credits needed as the project comes towards completion but for now for week one all credit goes to Glitchy Gelatinous who was the team director and helped with multiple tasks, Johnny JellyJaw who made the sprites for Johnny, Marceline Mortis for creating the background art for the mod, Weegee for the coding, Gamer_Word for charting it, and Piesarius for the audio/composition.
I think the first thing that I asked Glitchy when I approached him wanting to write a post about this project was whether or not this was the first mod he has ever made. The preview that we get for week 1 of the mod looks so professional I was blown away and figured he had practice in some way, but he told me that it was indeed his first mod. I found that to be somewhat inspirational, it shows that this is something that you can get into and make an amazing mod so long as you aspire to make it and have the patience to learn the process!

He was also nice enough while we were talking to share a couple of things that I found awesome that he said were ok if I mentioned. He shared with me that he has a custom logo for the title screen of the game and I found it incredibly awesome that since I was a newer follower he caught me up on some of the project visuals. I really appreciated him catching me up and he was so great to work with. This is probably why so many other vtubers and creators were willing to work with him to make so many parts of this project, and as far as the title logo goes it perfectly encapsulates the three parts and styles that the mod will be going with. It is so clean and I can tell at a glance which model themes will be in the mod.

Glitchy was also kind enough to send me the concept art for week 2 and all I could tell him was wow. I loved how they were turned into the Friday Night Funkin art style, while capturing the uniqueness of each character and their personalities. I love that the eyes of the left character show a sort of mood to them and that you can see a sort of almost ruthless nature to the character art on the right. Seeing those animated at the end of the project is going to be a massive treat.
So that was for the overall project which is three weeks, but he told me that week 1 will be released separate as weeks 2 and 3 will be in the works for a while. So with that in mind I would like to funnel our attention to the soon to be released week 1 in detail. What about it is so amazing and has so much hype surrounding it?
Well for starters I would say that one of the reasons is that it is collaborative in nature. Glitchy got to bring one of his friends and fellow vtubers to life in a mod for a game that Jelly works on in his normal spare time. This was such a project of love and passion not just for Glitchy but for his whole collaborative crew on just the first week. To see all their work come to life and have all of their audiences excited and genuinely happy that this project is coming out so polished is just the coal to the hype train! it drives hype in the community, it gives back, and it brings them creative fulfillment.
This tweet is a pinned tweet on Glitchy’s twitter account and as you can see it is a WIP of the first week. He also has a longer version up on youtube which I have above as well. Right off the bat you get an idea of the theming and can see how clean all of the art is without even needing to listen to, or play the video. You can tell it is a western themed battle between Jelly and the player and I absolutely love the background crew that you see here. They look so enthused and curious about what is happen out in what appears to be a barn. They did such a great job of capturing Jellies whole aesthetic here with the background. When I see well done, passion driven art, I can’t help but get hyped!
Then we go ahead and listen to it and it just keeps building on that amazing theming I was just talking about before. The sound of the song the key visuals of the charaters, it all just screams western. It screams this is a mini introduction into Jelly the vtuber if you do not know who he is. When I started working on this article I did not know who Jelly was but after watching the intro clip, and finding his twitter and twitch I was blown away at how well this mod served as a introduction into Jelly, the vtuber.
With all that being said it is a short intro and it does the job. It brings exposure to each other, it brings passion to the table, and it shows how well these vtubers get along and know each other! They all really took their time to make sure the quality was top notch in their mod and I really hope that everyone gives it a try as I know for a fact that I can’t wait to get my hands on it and try it out.
Lastly, it goes without saying that if you are interested in the mod please check out everyone involved in the project’s twitter accounts I hyperlinked them all when applicable and try it out when it is completed! As for me if you loved this article and content please consider following me here and giving this a like and sharing it around. I would love for as many people as possible to see the hard work this team has put into this project.
